Many people have many opinions when it comes to UFOs and the validity of whether or not they exist. Whether you are a believer or nonbeliever, there is heavy evidence to support your case no matter how you look at it. Personally, I do not believe they exist because I have seen faults in all of the evidence that I have encountered. However, I can understand why people believe in this evidence because of marginalization and omission which are very good ways of introducing bias. [THESIS] If UFOs truly do exist, the groundbreaking technology we claim to have would have proven this fact long ago. [THESIS]
One argument that I cannot stress enough is that UFO stands for Unidentified Flying Object. My argument is that for the number of people who have claimed to have seen one, no one can say what it is. If so many high-profile people witnessed such bizarre things as seeing aliens, we would pour hours and resources into researching these phenomenons. There are many government officials and high authority people who will say they have witnessed seeing one but there has been no progress to identify what they are or what they want. With our technology nowadays I find it very improbable that we have made little to no progress with moving closer to unlocking the mystery of UFOs. “We make the point that we don’t know what they are and that there are a significant number of cases that need to be studied further,” Kean told The Huffington Post. Using SMELL, we first analyze Kean. Leslie Kean is an author of the New York Times bestseller “UFOs: Generals, Pilots, and Government Officials Go On The Record.” If people don’t believe in UFOs, there will not be many sales of her book. There is a possibility that Kean wants people to believe in these unidentified objects so that she can boost her sales, motivating her to spread the word that UFOs do indeed exist.
A second point that I could argue against UFOs or the extraterrestrials who supposedly fly them is that they lack the resources to build flying spacecraft. For one of our readings, we had a photo gallery of different drawings of UFOs. Some were similar, and some looked like normal flight crafts. It is entirely possible that the flying objects being seen by many people from the ground may just be normal flight crafts flying at night. Many people beg to differ and swear that what they saw was an out-of-Earth craft, but all those pictures showed me is blurred lights at night. Most of the research that has already been conducted does not show what materials are used to build a spacecraft or UFO.
Let’s say that you are playing a guessing game with your friend. They are thinking of an animal and you have to guess which animal it is. Your first guess is a dog. You get it wrong. You are instantly certain that it’s a cat your friend is thinking about. This is probably wrong because there is a wide variety of what this animal can be. The same thing goes for UFOs. Just because you can’t identify it as a bird or as a plane doesn’t mean that it is an unidentified flying object with an alien in it. “I can’t identify it, “Cowell told KDVR. “That is not an airplane, that is not a helicopter, those are not birds.” Cowell suggested that the objects could be debris rising up from the ground by atmospheric winds. He also didn’t think the UFOs could be explained by bugs. Cowell was a commercial pilot and FAA prevention counselor. Because of his experience with flying and being in the sky, Cowell was shown the video of the “UFO.” Cowell is unable to identify what he is shown in the video. Because he does not believe it is an aircraft or birds, they are saying that KDVR captured an alien on video. The facts do not logically compel this conclusion. Even though Cowell has not personally seen what is on camera, it does not mean that it is a UFO. There could be a variety of other explanations. Cowell is also not an expert in the field of UFOs and was a commercial pilot. In the article, there is a lot of emphases that Cowell is a veteran when it comes to the sky and flying objects. This causes bias and leads us to believe that he is the right person to ask when it comes to flying objects. What’s left out is that he isn’t a person who studies UFOs and that there are better people to reach out to with a topic like this. Most experts cannot explain the reason or existence of UFOs, let alone pilots.
Lastly, I always wondered why UFOs never landed if they were really extraterrestrials here to explore Earth. UFOs and extraterrestrials go hand in hand. Someone who believes in UFOs believes in the existence of aliens. Yet no one has been a witness to what or who is inside of the UFO. Why would aliens fly around for years and not once try to land and explore the planet? “The strangest part is that they are flying too fast to see with the naked eye,” said Heidi Hemmat, a reporter from Fox 31 Denver news. How can so many people be key witnesses to UFOs if they are unobservable to the eye? We have drawings and very poor pictures of what people claim are UFOs. Most of the drawings are random shapes with scribbles around them as if we could make out the words that would explain the anomaly. I argue that with today’s modern technology and cameras we should be able to capture or detect these beings or flying objects.
For my personal interview, I chose my girlfriend, Kaitlyn. We naturally disagree on everything so it would only make sense that we clashed on the subject of UFOs as well. One of her main arguments is that if humans and animals existed then there is the possibility of other lifeforms out there. She adamantly said that there is a multitude of galaxies out there. “While there may not be other life forms in our solar system, who says there aren’t other life forms in other ones?” We sat and discussed back and forth, and I let her execute her arguments before countering her with my own. I started by saying that it is very unlikely that there are any other living lifeforms that we don’t know about. Nick Longrich, a senior lecturer in paleontology and evolution biology at the University of Bath, has said that “The evolution of intelligent life on earth is so spectacularly unlikely it may have happened just once.” Our evolutionary history shows that many key adaptations – not just intelligence, but complex animals, complex cells, photosynthesis, and life itself – were unique, one-off events, and therefore highly improbable. This leads me to believe there are no lifeforms outside of this place we call earth, meaning the only things in our skies are identified flying objects.
